As part of our work at the Iraqi Social Forum, a discussion on the right to education in Iraq

We held a panel discussion entitled: “The right to education in Iraq, policies, and legislation
We discussed important issues concerning the state of education in Iraq and the challenges facing it. One of the most important outputs of the session is an agreement to create a body within the Iraqi Social Forum to work on the subject of education

It was also agreed that civic action to improve the reality of education is complex and needs a collective effort, but it is indispensable to move towards (the right to quality education, fair and inclusive) as a basic human right, and as one of the important sustainable development goals
An important outcome of the session is to review and report on the national education strategy at the end of its timing in 2020
