We at Ufuq Organization for Human Development are pleased to share with you a study titled “Civil Society in Iraq: Origins, Legal, and Regulatory Framework”.
This study was conducted as part of the “Mubadra” project, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with Un Ponte Per – UPP and the Peace and Freedom Organization.
The study aims to shed light on the key features of civil society in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region by exploring various themes. It is divided into two parts: one addressing the national level and another focusing on the Kurdistan Region.
The study is structured into several sections:
- The first section covers the introduction, objectives, and methodology used for data collection and analysis, employing focus group discussions as the primary tool.
- The second section presents the theoretical framework of civil society, highlighting its significance, objectives, and the international legal framework governing its work.
- The third section examines the constitutional and legal framework, including national laws regulating civil society, and provides an analysis of key findings derived from data and focus group discussions.
