New Guide Addressing the Quality of Education Released

With the participation of Ufuq Organization, the Education Path within the Iraqi Social Forum, in collaboration with the Norwegian Foundation, Karibu, presented the guide “Quality Education as a Component of the Right to Education.” This is part of the Education Path’s vision, focusing on the essential elements constituting the right to education and ensuring its minimum effectiveness. Mr. Wissam Ibrahim Anber, the Executive Manager of Ufuq Organization for Development and the Education Path Coordinator within the Forum, prepared the guide.

The theme of this booklet revolves around the issue of quality in the field of educational instruction. It emphasizes that the quality of education in Iraq should become a public issue understood by all as part of their right to education. Activists must also recognize its importance and the need to focus efforts on it. Addressing this issue automatically involves addressing various issues such as the right of people with disabilities to education, inclusion, girls’ education, a safe educational environment, integrating human rights concepts into educational programs, a healthy and sustainable environment, and other issues typically addressed separately. However, these issues must be bundled together and integrated into the core of the right to education, rather than being treated as separate features that might appear as privileges and luxuries.

This work is the second in a series of productions within the Education Path in the Iraqi Social Forum, reflecting the path’s vision to contribute to building the reference library for the right to education in Iraq.
