Ufuq Organization for Human Development, in cooperation with the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), within the Parliamentary Performance Development Program, held a workshop on March 10 and 11, 2022, in the city of Erbil, in the presence of the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Parliament, the Parliamentary Development Institute, the Parliamentary Legislation Department and many Council advisors. In addition to a group of former members of the Iraqi Parliament, experts and civil society institutions specialized in the field of training and capacity building.
The session is part of the ongoing work and cooperation between the Ufuq Organization and the Iraqi parliament departments, to discuss in-depth ways of future cooperation and identify the needs of the Iraqi parliament. Where training manuals will be prepared and a database of trainers will be established.
It is noteworthy that Ufuq Organization, in January of this year, in cooperation with the Iraqi Parliament, provided training for the new members of the Iraqi Parliament on human rights issues. These activities come within our vision for institutional reform and the development of parliamentary work in Iraq, in our endeavor to consolidate concepts of democratic work in Iraq.
