Ufuq participated in the national consultations on the Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights (UPR) at the meeting organized by our partners at the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation on 24 April 2019.
The session was attended by parliamentarians, government officials, international and local activists who contributed to the submission of national reports and shadow reports on the human rights situation in Iraq.
Mr. Ali Bakhat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Horizon Mr. Ali Bakhat, chaired the special session to review the experts of preparing the report from the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Iraqi government, and was the focus of the discussion on the efforts of coordination and cooperation between the state institutions and the Iraqi civil society.
In addition, Ufuq has submitted a special report on the Education Sector in Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (UPR 2019), in addition to two joint reports with AIM (minority rights) and the second with the Ohard Coalition (civil and political rights).
